OK, just because I upgraded to Apple’s new iOS5 yesterday (with millions of others) I’m not assuming everyone who reads this blog will be interested … but some of you might:

And, naturally, John Gruber is all over it. Usefully.
Does the new voice activation product Siri I think its called work on IPhone 4?
Nope. Only works on the new iPhone 4S …
Theories abound: one of them being that because Siri relies on server access for some of its intelligence, they’re [Apple] wanting to stage its introduction. (It’s still a ‘beta’.) If the existing user base for iPhone 4 was to suddenly come a calling …
Or the other theory is that it’s just sumpin’ new and shiny to drive 4S sales… I’m certainly getting one PDQ.
I’ve seen Siri in action on video from Jason Snell at MacWorld.

Seriously cool. (Especially the response to the voice command:
“Open the pod bay doors.”

There’s one of the main reasons this company is successful. few Morals. But good for them.
I will only be convinced of Siri when I try it first hand. All speech devices I have used have um sucked. We’ll see. Fingers crossed.
Gee you’re being a bit tough. Morals?
Here’s another very good tips article re iOS5 features.

The comments are interesting too. A bit of Ford vs Holden brainless ‘rivalry’.
