Some who fancy themselves as ‘political players’ put me in mind of this from Macbeth:

Its not applicable only to those who fancy themselves as political players – it applies to Politicians, special interest groups and most importantly and deservedly – our NZ Media bloc.
Patrick Gower deserves a medal for the most underwhelming and stupid / patronising reporting style on Television. Followed closely by Hils Barry for the most aunt daisy-like downmarket frontpersoning in creation. As for TVNZ – well – sort of like a group of carnie-people – “small hands – smell like cabbage…”
Some of the blogs are developing meaning – as their predictions prove true – and some are becoming totally irrelevant and a “loud sounding nothing…” The latter – will become like tomorrows newspapers … wrappers for fish and chips and nothing more.

You are absolutely right – media and ersatz media (blogs) are like preachers at a suicide funeral – full of presumptuous and patronising statements – presuming they know what we think or feel – while picking up around $100k a year for the privilege or being the recipient of a privileged upbringing that puts them out of reach of reality as most people know it.
